Grand Lakes Garage Sale

The Grand Lakes community garage sale is on May 14th and I volunteered to lead the event (which means fronting the money for ads, signs etc. then getting it back from the residents who participate). We're a little late getting off the ground on this one so we missed the newsletter which means more work to do to alert the community to the event. Hopefully we'll make some decent money and I'll get a new office desk!

To thank me for volunteering the Home Owners Association sent me a nice letter last Wednesday telling me to edge my lawn - as if 20 stolons of St. Augustine are really putting downward pressure on house prices around here!

Check out our neighbourhood at www.GrandLakes.com

I posted one add on the Channel 13 web site (http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/areaguide/events_new_garagesales.html) but Channel 12 haven't posted my submission. I notice that Channel 13 did not correct my mis-spelling of comunity (sic).

Hello Blogosphere

A long time ago I used to write a long annual letter. Then I got married. Then we had kids. The letter disappeared as the time disappeared. I've been thinking for a long time of resurrecting it but the time taken was pretty daunting. Today I had a master thought! I shall blog my annual letter a piece at a time as things come to me. That will be far more efficient.

Today we all got our haircut (Emma getting a small amount off her bangs (fringe). What made this a special event was, for the first time, Evan sat in the chair on his own and allowed Roger to perform his magic. Evan didn't cry, twist away or wriggle and got a great haircut as a result. This may not mean much to you but it means a great deal to me.
